The beeping

All i hear is beep beep beep... i attempt to open my eyes and a blinding white light makes me shut them. I'm totally incoherent and have no idea where i am. Then suddenly i hear what i think is a door opening and a very sweet sounding voice say "Hey." I don't want to open my eyes again so i just lay there to make sure what i was hearing wasn't part of my dream. The voice gets closer and i could feel who ever it was put there hand on my head and begin whispering in my ear. "Hey i know you can't hear me right now but I'm so sorry this is all my fault i should have never asked you to walk all the way across campus i should have just called Sarah and told her to come down and let me stay in her room. Oh Gosh! I'm so so sorry D." About that time i feel their face brush my forehead and something wet hit my eyelid. I hear a sniffle and i attempt to open my eyes again this time the bright light is not so bright and everything is blurry. I blink once, it gets clearer i blink twice, it's almost perfect i blink a third time, and all i see are her beautiful almond eyes staring down at me and her mascara running down her cheeks. I try to speak but it sounded like I'd smoked fifty packs of Newports...
"Ha" was the only thing i could mumble.
"Oh my God I thought you were dead."
"Na, I'm OK," i replied in an old raspy voice.
"But your eye?"...
